About Naini Aerospace Limited (NAeL)

Naini Aerospace Limited (NAeL) was incorporated on 29 December 2016 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), with the vision of reviving the Naini unit of Hindustan Cables Limited (HCL) and transforming the dormant facility into a modern aerospace and aviation manufacturing centre.

Located in the Naini Industrial Area of Prayagraj, developed by the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation, NAeL's manufacturing facility is situated along the Prayagraj–Mirzapur Highway, approximately 20 km from Prayagraj city centre. Naini, Prayagraj, is also part of the proposed Defence Industrial Corridor of Uttar Pradesh, providing a strategic ecosystem for aerospace and defence manufacturing.

Building Skills and Aerospace Capabilities

With the vision, mission, guidance and technological support of HAL, a Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise, NAeL undertook the restoration and modernization of the facility, while simultaneously developing the infrastructure, processes and skilled workforce required for aerospace manufacturing.

To establish a highly skilled workforce, technicians underwent a structured 14-week skill development programme at HAL Technical Training Institute (TTI), Bengaluru. This was followed by extensive on-the-job training at the Helicopter and LCA Divisions of HAL. Continuous skill enhancement and job-specific training are imparted to employees to ensure adherence to stringent aerospace manufacturing requirements.

NAeL commenced Aircraft Loom manufacturing on 10 July 2017. Since then, the company has successfully manufactured and delivered 1800+ aircraft looms for various aerospace platforms, including Dhruv Helicopter, LCA Tejas, Dornier, HTT-40 and other platforms.

The Structural Assembly operations commenced in July 2018, marking another significant milestone in the development of its aerospace manufacturing capabilities.

Over the years, NAeL has progressively expanded its capabilities and product portfolio to meet the evolving requirements of the aerospace and aviation sector. Today, the company's key areas of operation include:

• Ground Support Equipment (GSE)
• Ground Handling Equipment (GHE)

Through these capabilities, NAeL has evolved into a multi-capability aerospace and aviation organisation, supporting the requirements of India's defence and aviation ecosystem.
